A new chapter in life

Post #13 - Write about anything of your choice.

Hey guys!

I hope you all are doing well. I feel so disconnected ever since I stopped blogging. Well, not technically stopped.. but fell behind. I am planning to blog at least 5 posts before I sleep tonight.

I have sooooo much to share. As many of you are curious to know how everything is going.. well, let's just say.. it's not. It's difficult planning everything in such a short amount of time. And if the person planning the event is a wanna-be perfectionist and OCD about everything - it doesn't help.

My future in-laws are here from India.. so I've been extremely busy with them as well. So many new things happening in life, it's crazy and weird at the same time. Mixed emotions!

If I talk about the minute details that I have taken in consideration for this event - half of you might decide not to show up to meet a crazy woman. I am not even kidding.  And you know what the best thing is? Your parents are supposed to do it all. They plan it out. They find a place. They set it up. They hook up with vendors and make sure everything is going as expected. But in my case, I took on the responsibility. My parents have not met any one of my vendors. The only thing they did come with me for was the venue booking before we signed a contract for it. But otherwise.. the decor, DJ, photo, video, bakery and all that jazz - my parents don't have a clue. Nish and I did everything ourselves with the help of our friends.

I was gonna save it for later but I wanna give a big shoutout to all my wonderful friends who are helping me with everything. I don't need to name you guys - you know who you are. From making the shagun baskets, to wrapping gifts, to thank you notes, to guestbook table, to cake table, the champagne glasses, the engravings and everything - gahhhh!

Thank you SO SO SO SO SOOO MUCH for offering your kind help. A special thanks to Kanchi for coming over thrice to help me make props for our entrances/dances, shagun baskets and everything else! A special thanks to Harv for managing to MC out of her busy schedule! A special thanks to all my performers (not naming them - surpriseeee) to prepare dances for my big day despite their busy summer work/school schedules. Love you all!

We just finished with our E-shoot. I still am putting together the slideshows, the performance mixes, and an agenda for the event. I just want everything to be SUPER organized. I am SO picky. I want to make sure everyone knows what they are doing the day of the event. They shouldn't even have to ask someone what is next. I am gonna start rehearsals after 2 weeks with my 2 sets of parents. I can't wait to see their 'latka-jhatkas' at the entries. It's gonna be superb.

Other than that.. Nish has been really busy with work. We don't even get time to talk or discuss anything that goes on in our life. A lot of things are new for the both of us but we don't even have the time to give each other a call to talk about it. This makes me feel like the day is gonna breeze by and we won't even know it.

Health wise - BAD! I haven't exercised since June 27. That was the day his parents came. It's been almost 10 days. And it's REALLY bad that I cheated a heck lot and didn't even exercise. It's showing up on the scale. Enough of the excitement now.. back on track starting tomorrow.

Shopping - we still need to buy a ton of stuff. It will happen eventually. This weekend was invitations. We are almost done with the invitations and next is coordinating everything. I gotta touch base with all my vendors and go over everything. I still have to pick linens for the venue and all that jazz. My outfit is still questionable for the event. I don't have sandals or a clutch yet. It is CHAOS. But but but.. it will happen. All is well. I told myself I am not gonna freak out.

I sound like Bridezilla right now, I know. Sorry for this post! I couldn't think of anything else to talk about because I am sooo overwhelmed with excitement, nervousness, anxiety and a mix of other emotions.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
