End of 99 reasons

You guys remember my 99 reasons post, right? It was written in instalments over various blogs. I was reading back to some of them and I realized I've got exactly 20 reasons left. Well, then. Here it goes:-

20. He treats my parents with respect. The kind of respect you want and expect from your partner, without having to say anything.

19. Last Diwali, we were window shopping at Woodbine Mall. I remember walking by a Home Decor store and looking at a few things. One of those things was a Water Fountain - you know those really big cool ones for a large space in your house? And I ended up saying, "My dad loves these things!" As I already mentioned, Nish was over for a Christmas dinner. And he spent crazy money on buying a humongous water fountain as a Christmas present. Why? Because a year ago, I had mentioned that my dad likes such things. He remembered! What more do I say?

18. Okay, this one is kinda crazy. We were Christmas shopping together.. and relax yourselves.. JUST FOR FUN.. we went to Peoples and I wanted to try on engagement rings. We put on an act as if we're getting engaged next month. The Customer Service Representative obviously took it on a serious note and we spent 45 minutes trying on the best rings. I died looking at the VERA WANG collection. I literally felt like Carrie Bradshaw for a minute (You Sex & The City addicts know what I am talking about =P) And throughout the entire thing, he actually sat through and acted really well. That was a fun hour at Peoples. We enjoyed the compliments and attention. Well, 'I' definitely did =)

17. He is truly my best friend. He has never broken the Bro Code (whaddup How I met your Mother reference). He always keeps everything a secret. I can always count on him to be the first one to tell anything to and expect help and support. He is a great listener and respects all my decisions.

16. Children love him. Whenever we're in the elevator or in a public place with the presence of kids, he gets their attention within seconds. He is so playful and kind in nature, and not afraid to show his loving side. I am a firm believer that children are a good judge of character. I have yet to meet a kid who has not smiled at Nish. Note: A cheesy sentence ahead, so be prepared to "awww!"
*I have a feeling that he is going to make the best father ever!* =)

15. He protects and defends his role of a boyfriend (more so hubby!) There were a few wrong or inappropriate things happening to me a while ago. He carefully warned me the first time. The second time, he got really upset. The third time, he said he will take action if I don't do anything now. So, I had to. He always says, "I am not letting anyone treat my girl like this!"

14. I am so glad I have a man who is not a "fukra!" This term means a man who boasts a lot (Punjabi translation). And I know I am generalizing but a lot of Punjabi guys do. It is SUCH a turn off. It's mostly fobs anyway. But Nish is really not like that. He realizes that just as easily as you get things, they can be taken away. You will never hear him boast about material things in life or any privileges that he has received. Touchwood, God has given him so much because of his honesty and humbleness. Not once have I heard this man boast about anything. There is nothing better than a humble man.

13. He encourages me to do things that will make me feel sexy, lol. So, most of the time.. I am dressed very casual. I don't glam up on most days. And with this haircut, I feel like a man. All my girly-ness has gone with my hair, I feel =(  When we're at the mall, he will always push me inside Victoria's Secret or to get cute things (i.e. Cheetah prints) because I love them so much - to make me feel more attractive. And if he gets me something, he will look forward to see me in it.

12. He is currently gone to Montreal since the last two days to party it out with friends after working hard for the entire year. I encouraged him to go because he deserves it. He has called me 30 times in two days because he's feeling guilty to leave me alone for New Years. Today, he said he will drop his car there and take Greyhound back so we can enter the new year together. I think it's adorable! But hun, you enjoy your stay. I got family for new years =) See you when you're back!

11. He knows that I hate interruptions. Unfortunately, his business is the kind where he needs to attend all calls, and several of them in a day. I hate phone calls when we're together. We haven't been meeting too much lately, so whenever we do meet, he tells his colleagues/friends - "I am extremely busy with my girlfriend now, so please do not call me till so and so."

10. I overheard him talking to my parents about me when I was getting ready upstairs. He will seldom say anything nice about me to me. But true praise is when you tell somebody else in the absence of the individual. I was actually listening very closely from upstairs. And it made me very happy. Thank you for supporting me and saying all of those wonderful things about me.

9. He tells several people that he will marry me, and we are not even engaged yet.

8. He has given me everything in life that I ever wanted. No complaints.

7. He respects my celibacy.

6. He is the perfect puzzle piece missing from my family.

5. He never loses touch with romance. His ideas are always fresh, and extremely romantic. He never runs out of them either.

4. He has gotten so much better at conflict resolution over the months. And I am so glad to be OVER the fighting phase to enjoy the true value of our relationship.

3. He has had fabulous upbringing. I salute his mom and dad for the kind of thinking he has.

2. He told me to blog tonight, because this is something he does not want me to stop.

1. I love him. Period.
