I figured I'd do a beauty post as well.
This is how my work makeup routine goes:
1. Wash face with a face wash
Steps:
- Wash face
- Apply facial cleanser
- Use a facial scrubbie from Sally's and massage the entire face, especially get areas with blackheads
- Wash it off
- Softly dry face
2. Get dressed
- Till I get dressed, I allow my skin to breathe a little bit before applying makeup.
3. Moisturise
- I use L'Oreal Hydrafresh Daily Moisturiser
- Apply it all over your face, especially in extremely dry areas such as my forehead and chin
4. Concealer
- I use the Camouflage palette from Coastal Scents and mix two medium beige colors
- Application: Lightly dab it under your eyes in the trouble areas (i.e. under eye bags)
- Blend it with a concealer brush
5. Foundation
- These days, I am using FIT ME from Maybelline - because it a light to medium coverage foundation, perfect for daily use (as mentioned and recommended many times before)
- I dot my face with the foundation (the Desi way :) on your forehead, cheeks, nose, chin, and neck)
- Then, I take my flat Stippling brush from Coastal Scents to blend it into the skin
- Tip: instead of using circular motions, perform downward strokes instead, as it does not disturb your facial hair
6. Re-touch Concealer
- After applying my foundation, I dab on a little more concealer for full coverage
- I use a beauty sponge to set it in place this time, instead of blending it into the skin
- To set it, I use the Physicians Formula loose powder
7. Eye Make Up
- I rarely use shadows for work. I usually outline my eyes with Rimmel Exaggerate Line pencil eye liner or the black pencil liner from Annabelle. I use MAC's Kohl Eye liner to line my water line, as it does not irritate my eyes.
- If I feel dead, I use top liner also by Rimmel - Exaggerate Line.
- I put on a light layer of mascara, IF I line the top of my eyes - L'Oreal Voluminous in Carbon Black.
8. Lips
- I prep my lips with EOS lip blam first.
- Then, I put on a very light pinky shade of lipstick. If I am dressing it up, then I would be more bold with the lips.
- I use a light layer of lipgloss on top of the lips, IF I am feelin' it. Most work days are blah days, lol.
9. Cheeks
- I mostly use a little blush on my cheeks.
- I use the Coastal Scents Blush/Countour palette which comes with a highlight color, a pressed powder, two blushes and one bronzer/contour color
10. Set Face
- To set everything, I use Palladio's Rice Powder with a powder brush and lightly brush it all over my face, clearing any fallouts or imperfections.
Note: If you are a non-makeup user, this may seem way too much for you. But if you are a proficient makeup user like me, you would know that all these steps take no more than 10 minutes on a daily basis. This is my out-the-door makeup routine, when I have to rush for work every morning. I usually eliminate the mascara, and top liner for eyes, and do not re-touch concealer on the days where I am late. But the rest takes me 5-7 minutes.
I hope this was helpful =)
