No shopping this year!

Christmas is not only a time for family and friends to get together and celebrate, it is also to thank God for the things we are thankful for.

Every year, we celebrate the 25th December at home, with our family. We get so many invitations to dinners and parties, but we always turn them down. It is kinda like a ritual for us to just prepare a feast at home and just be at home with each other.

We take the time to thank God for the roof over our heads, the food we eat, and the live we are living today. The Christmas this year was a little extra special. There is a reason why I mentioned the fact that we do not like having anyone over on this day. This year, I invited home Nish for Christmas, just like a member of my family. Well, at least for me. I think it went really well. We ate a lot, cracked some jokes, shared some stories, opened up our presents and made fun of each other, lol.

Nish brought over a very cool present and I will post a picture of it in the next blog because every one is sleeping right now. It is a water fountain and I will have to plug it in for it to work. I don't wanna wake anybody up as it creates noise. But thank you so much Nish for the present. Every one loved it.

The sad thing is, Nish & I didn't get a chance to go shopping for Boxing Day this year. Actually, we had a chance but we chose not to go. Honestly, Boxing Day is usually a marathon for me. I am the girl who lines up at 6 am and doesn't sleep the Christmas night to get all the good deals. Yes, I have stood in line at Future Shop at 4 am 3 years ago to get my laptop. But this year, I slept till 11 am. I didn't go anywhere. Neither did he. We went to watch Dabangg 2 instead. I enjoyed relaxing and watching a movie instead of standing in lines all day long. And since I've started working, I've spent most of it shopping - and I already had every thing that I wanted. I honestly could not think of one thing to buy. Hence, we didn't end up buying anything. It's still kinda strange for me that Boxing is over, because I used to look forward to it every year. I think they had really crappy sales this year. The fabric for clothes on sale was disgusting. Every thing that was looking good was regular price. The sale stuff was really not attractive. Anyway.. I still might go to the mall in a day or two, after they re-stock. It's my mom's birthday on January 3rd and I still have to go shopping for her!
