An accidental rose

Good morning people =)

Yesterday was an interesting day. It was the day I missed my class with the whole rain and train stop incident. When I came home, I made myself a nice breakfast and started watching TV. I received a call soon after from India saying my grandma has been accommodated on a flight. I was really happy.

Yesterday, he was feeling really low. There have always been times when I was the typical PMS-ing chic, requiring all the attention. For the first time, it was his day. I've never heard him say, "I feel low." He's this fun-ball.. okay, that sounds wrong. I meant, he is a person with such a cheerful personality, really poor jokes but a noticeable sense of humor. A person out of whom zeal and enthusiasm can evidently be seen. Hence, I decided to uplift his mood by giving him a visit. I dropped my mother off at work, and went to the closest mall. I got him a little something from there and went off to this restaurant we always go to. I picked a little something from there that was going to make him smile. Meanwhile, he went to surprise me! We were both in different locations, waiting for each other. Great!

Basically, he went to a different mall to look for teddies and things for me. He didn't happen to like anything, so he picked up a rose. Now, coincidentally, yesterday's date meant the completion of our nine months. I don't make a huge deal about it. We have actually forgotten to even acknowledge four months in between, lol. But I kinda remembered it by the evening. When we met up, and exchanged gifts.. I said, "A rose? Why do you need to give me a rose? I still have all the ones from Valentine's Day and other occasions. What's the occasion today?" He goes, "Nothing, it doesn't need an occasion. I just felt like giving you something."

After a while.. we're still talking. I am trying to figure out why he's so low.. In the midst of the "sharing-phase," something about an occasion came up. Me, being me...played on the word again. "Occasion.. hmm.. talking of occasions.. do you know what's the occasion today?"
Suddenly, after a few seconds of realization, his eyes lit up and he says, "Ohhhhhhh!"
Umm, still waiting for a wish? LOL. He just kinda stood there in awe. And finally said, "No wonder I felt like giving you a rose today!"
"No, don't even try to compensate your accidental rose-buying incident and try to make it sound important, as if you remembered today's date."

It was a cute, funny moment. It definitely was funnier in person, for us at least. It may not be in writing. Then, we went out for healthy food together, lol. Whole wheat pasta? And watched Friends (my most favorite thing to do in my "alone" time). And that's pretty much it =)

I hope everyone has a great day today. I am too excited to receive my grandma. I am taking a bus right after class that goes down to the terminal. Once I have her, my mom will come pick us up. THRILLED.
