Hello bloggers and readers!
I am ECSTATIC that I am done with exams, and not so happy because I am down with a flu. The moment I finished my exam, I went to watch "The Lucky One" - another Nicholas Sparks movie - and I must say I was disappointed. I can't speak for others but it was a little too obvious and mushy for me. The set was just one house, and the short movie (1 hr 20 min) revolved around the potential couple. It was definitely old school, but it didn't spark any romance like the Notebook did. There was just SO much passion in that movie. I shouldn't compare. Oh well. Right when I went home, I could feel a sore throat. I woke up the next morning, with a stuffy nose and my throat KILLED.
Anyway.. now that I have nothing to do except lie in bed with a blanket and a box of Kleenex, I actually came up with a bunch of things to do. One, it's my mom and dad's anniversary next week. My brother and I are putting in planning for their presents, and to make them as thoughtful as they can be. We wanted it to be outdoors, and we wanted to send them to Downtown overnight, to spend some time away from us brats. But it's not gonna work out because they resented to the idea, before we even presented it, LOL. They are good guessers! Or they probably just overheard us. They want a traditional house party with all their relatives and friends over. So, I took over the menu and catering part, and whatever we decide to cook at home. My brother is gonna buy all the liquor needed, and the point is not to let them spend a thing.
The second thing that is going to keep me occupied is Mother's Day. My dear mother has put up with so much crap this year, MUCH more than usual. This is the only year that our family has had the most trouble communicating effectively and a lot of misunderstandings came out of it. But, now it's all good *touchwood* and I am planning to get a gift card from a salon and spa in our area, with a facial, manicure, pedicure, and a haircut for her. She deserves some time to herself, away from home, and NOT cleaning after us. I also saw this amazing cushion passing by at Square One, which had "The Best Mom in the World" hand embroidered onto it. I am definitely getting that, it was too cute. And I am planning to get her a nice net cardigan, which she has been looking for since a LONG time! She will have no clue.. =)
And the third thing, is really important to me. I have been so messy with my room since the last year and it needs to stop. I have shit loads of makeup and jewelry that I am never gonna wear. I have a shit load of clothes that I don't even know exist. I really need to sort things out. I have notes from grade 8 for Pete's Sake. I hate throwing my stuff away, but I think it needs to be done. Also, I wanna do the whole ritual and sit down with popcorn, cookies, and Diet Coke with good music, and sort through all the notes, assignments, papers, and tests that I have collected over the last four years. A graduation ritual is needed. And I am looking forward to it. I need to empty out my bookshelf and throw it out of my room. I am putting my entire bedset on sale. Hopefully, somebody will buy it off of Kijiji. And I am investing into room renovation!
This is something that gets me so excited. I really wonder what I am doing with research disciplines, sometimes. I am really more of a creative person. Makeup, home decor, cooking, fashion is what really interests me! I am hoping to keep them as hobbies. Sooo.. I am designing my room all over again! I didn't have a say the first time because we were too young to care about the paint in our room. I had lots of other things going on as a teenager to worry about the kinda furniture I want in my room. It was all decided by my parents.
I wanna re-paint my room, with the help of my brother. And I want EVERYTHING to be white, black, and PINK. I hated pink for a few years, when I was obsessed with black. I still am obsessed with black but now I want colour in life :) and nothing pops colour better than pink! My initial choice was RED but it's much easier to find selections in pink than there are with red. Or maybe, I just never looked in the right places. So, I am taking my large queen bed out of my room, along with the humongous dressing table. The closet was never in my room because it was too large to fit in with my study table. I had to make compromises. The closet is still sitting in the guest room, and it is absolutely difficult to access clothes across two rooms on a daily basis, considering I change three-four times a day!
More detail on the room in the next post :)
