Happy Mother's Day to ALL women!

I am not a mother yet and I know there will be a whole new level of appreciation for my mom when I become one myself. But even then... let me convey a few things.

First of all, Happy Mother's Day. Every day is Mother's Day because there truly can't be a day without your mother. I am wishing everyone a very Happy Mother's Day - to every single woman that is reading this right now. YOU are doing an amazing job. YOU are appreciated!

Take a breather. Take some time to celebrate YOU. I feel, there's no way for a child to thank their mother for the things they do / have done / will do. But I am still going to give it a try.

Thank you for giving me your qualities that I embody as a wife, today. You worked so hard - days and nights, cooked, cleaned the house and rarely ever asked anyone for assistance. You did it mostly by yourself. And here, I can't even stay sane with my health issues. You've battled far too much in life and emerged stronger EVERY single time. Thank you for your example of marriage. This is for you and dad. I am so thankful that I grew up as your child, in a loving home of 2 personalities that complement each other. We've had some tough times, too. But that's what families do - they fight, they conquer, they move on, because THEY LOVE.

Thank you for teaching me values of forgiveness. Thank you for YOUR forgiveness for times I didn't even say sorry. I apologize for any hard times I gave you as a teenager. Thanks for your constant prayers for my health and well being. Thank you for letting me ruin your finances because you've granted me every single wish. I just had to point a finger. But at the same time, thank you for teaching me lessons of humility.

Thank you for all the things that YOU DO and also for the things that you DON'T DO. Because love isn't conditional. It's not based on how many demands you fulfilled. It's not just based on the good times, or for how many times you did well. Even for times that you couldn't do your best (for whatever reasons), I still want to thank you because everything is an experience.

Thank you for teaching us never to keep malice in our hearts for anyone, no matter how badly we've been wronged. Thank you for being thoughtful and loving dad so much that you take care of his every little need - from his special food preferences to the big ones - like being a strong pillar of support. You've always lent a shoulder to anyone who needed it. Also, thank you for being SO FANTASTIC with my friends because they always praise you. Thank you for NOT being the kind of nosey mom (as we refer to other aunties) and being so cool, not to interfere with any of my friendships. Thank you for not judging anyone around you. Thank you for having an open mind.

Motherhood is the most difficult job out there. It's a job one can never quit. Unpaid, under-valued and the hours are 24/7. The never-ending shift. Is there anyone else out there in the world that works a job which is physically demanding, emotionally exhausting with life-long tenure? Nope. Dads have the good life :D Once again, mom - thank you for giving up so much for this job. Your waistline. Your sleep. Your peace of mind. Your entire life.

Lastly, thank you to my mother-in-law for raising an amazing man - her son - who I proudly call my husband. Thank you for raising the man of my dreams!

Last, but not the least - I wanna write a quick note to those mothers that aren't yet mothers. Confused? Just because someone wasn't blessed with a baby - doesn't mean they don't have the right to celebrate their maternal love. Happy Mother's Day to those that are battling infertility - this day shouldn't have to be a painful reminder of what might not be yours. Rather, it should be a day to thank yourself for the struggle you have been through / are going through. No one can take away the maternal feelings you have. That is within you.

Also, thank you to those around the world that adopt children and redefine the conventional terms of motherhood.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to ALL women that love with a "MOM HEART!"
