It seems, more and more, that ungratefulness is becoming a virtue in today's society. More and more ungrateful people are expecting everything, and in return, give little or nothing. That is really sad.
I've learned that you see true colours of a person when you are no longer beneficial to them. It's all fun and games when you need each other. Loyalty is a privilege, NOT a right.
It's a no-brainer that people only notice things when you don't do them. They won't appreciate you when you do those things on the daily. Ungrateful people might remember the one thing you didn't do for them and forget the thousand things that you did. I guess, that's human nature.
Just remember... whenever you go out of your way to help someone and give it all you had... don't expect a thing in return. Hopefully, karma will come around one day and teach those ungrateful people a lesson. And for those ungrateful people, appreciation doesn't cost a thing! So, even if you are cheap - this works :)
You bet I am angry right now. And I feel that my efforts were unworthy. But I don't regret it. It is in my nature to get attached to people and assist them. So, I've decided that setting boundaries might be the only thing that might work. I cannot help but have expectations from people, as a human habit. However, setting firm boundaries for deciding how much energy, time and love I want to invest in people might keep my life in balance. Because I deserve better. I deserve better than being disrespected and unappreciated.
Hopefully, then I will be free from attracting too many ungrateful people in my life and minimize chances of getting hurt later. Surround yourself with people that love and appreciate you. The others aren't worth the time or energy. And they aren't good for the soul either. How do you do deal with ungrateful people. Let me know in the comments!
