Irregular.

Periods.

So... let's dive right into the pool of awkwardness...

This needs to be said. It is discussed between women. And I am just gonna come out and set the record straight.

Guys think women who miss their period for a month are gonna be responsible for infertility in the future. Can I just say... you ignorant creatures, wake up and snap back to reality.

It's already crazy how women are the only beings on this planet that get mother nature to love them oh so much for a couple days a month. We practically make a new human being. Unless, your testicles can magically deliver a baby...  don't even open your mouth about our periods. Just.. don't.

I kind of lose it when I see women so worried about their periods. So, I've never experienced anything like this before and it only happened after India. It was bound to happen with the weight gain, climate change, insane travel and fatigue. Some people also say, that when you become sexually active, your hormones react differently.

People... missing a period is NOT the end of the world. It is OKAY. In a world, where we're all for talking about sex and birth control... I feel that women's periods get over-analyzed and everything is automatically tied to infertility. So, WHAT? It's a biological thing and it has many solutions in today's world. People really need to get over their crap-ass, looking-through-a-straw kind of mentality.

I know 2 girls with PCOS who are struggling with their periods. Most men who make comments about periods won't even know what PCOS is. Yes, that's right... because you are just entitled to put women down and not help or understand them. Your tower of pride doesn't have to go through anything bloody, right? That's why you don't care. I know 3 girls who have a bad case of hypo-thyroidism and struggle with irregular periods. Are you trying to tell all of these women that they can't conceive?

Dear men... just for your information... women take birth control pills, so you can enjoy yourself without worrying about pregnancy. Some birth control pills have adverse reactions. Some of them might make you miss your period. However, it is not mostly the case. Birth control pills are rather known for regulating your periods. But there are billions of girls out there. They all have different issues. They all have different bodies and different problems. But somehow, every single one of those billion girls are tied to the word 'infertility' if they seem to have irregular periods.

In Indian culture, mothers will start lecturing you about how important it is to have your periods on time. Forget mothers... aunties who have no business in your personal matter will start giving you their home remedies. They will make an attempt to feed you food that apparently triggers your periods. I mean, can we stop this madness? Periods are super important and there are doctors for hormone-testing and other issues. Can you guys stop being so hyper over this issue?

In a country like India... where rape is out in the open, they still double-bag a pack of tampons, so no one can see it. So, what if someone sees it? It's NORMAL. This is how women were designed. Menstruating is as normal as peeing, okay? Maybe, I stretched it a bit here, lol. But you get the point?

Sometimes, I struggle to understand why women always remain criticized in this hypocritical world . At first, you're criticized for being a slut if you get your periods in early adolescence. Then, you are criticized for infertility if you're not getting your periods on time as an adult. And when you hit menopause, you're criticized for a stop on your periods. I mean, really? Does it look like we have a way out... anywhere?

But it is actually supposed to stop at menopause. I mean, we don't have a lifetime supply of eggs. And thank god for that. Otherwise, some men think women are baby making machines. You do know that right? I am particularly addressing this to dumb, ignorant, idiotic men and some women. You DRIVE ME INSANE!

On a serious note, if you are missing your periods quite a bit, then it is a topic of concern and you need to see your doctor. Because an irregular cycle can make it difficult to get pregnant. But then again, missing your period once in a while is no biggie - it could be due to stress, weight gain, extreme exercise, travel, poor nutrition, thyroid and hormonal imbalance because of birth control pills or other medication.

Women with irregular periods CAN have babies. They shouldn't be labelled infertile as soon as they skip a cycle. That is just unfair to say. And very hurtful. Especially to those who really wanna become mothers. There are drugs out there to increase ovulation. I am not a doctor. I am just trying to make sense here. Women don't need to be bashed for irregular periods. Period. :)
