Sephora Makeup Haul

Hey makeup fanatics!

Am I the only one that felt Boxing Day was almost useless this year? I heard all Sears stores are shutting down so they had pretty huge sales but other than that, all sales were pretty shit. Sephora had some pretty good holiday exclusives on display. I wouldn't call them sales because Sephora is pretty damn pricey!

But I still got my hands on some pretty sweet deals. Happy to share them with you =)

I haven't been able to use all of them yet, so I don't have reviews for those products.

1. BENEFIT POREfessional (Sephora: $50.00 1.5 oz)
Unfortunately, I purchased this product after buying the MAC Prep + Prime. I wish I had known how great this product is and I would have saved my $40 at MAC. This primer lives up to the hype. It is extremely pricey and quite frankly, I cannot afford it if I wear it on a day-to-day basis. The 1.5 oz tube is worth $50.00 plus tax. I have the 0.75 oz for $36.00 and use it very sparingly only for parties and occasions.

Basically, this product does what it is supposed to do. It evens out the surface of your skin and covers pores. I have large pores ever since I've had my adult acne issues. So, this works wonders. I only use it on my cheeks and forehead where most of the pores appear large. The formula is very lightweight and silky smooth, it doesn't even feel like you're applying a cosmetic product to your skin. It's definitely worth the money.

2. BENEFIT Gettin' Cheeky! (Sephora: $20.00) Out of Stock
This was one of the promotional products out this holiday season. Unfortunately, it is all out of stock at Sephora now. I got my hands on it on Boxing Day. Basically, this packaging has the 3 Benefit tints for your cheeks. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the most talked about HIGH BEAM but it has all the others. It has Sunbeam, Cha Cha Tint, & Posie Tint. In a nutshell, Sunbeam is for a nice sun-kissed glow, the Cha Cha is a coral tint & Posie is a rosey pink tint for your cheeks. It's great for my skin because I have really dry skin. After the foundation, and powder, if I apply a powder blush, it can appear very cakey sometimes. So, I like cream blushes because everything doesn't look matti-fied. Hence, I really like the Posie Tint. That is the one I will buy a full sized bottle in. The tints in this packaging are only 0.45 oz which isn't a lot. I probably wouldn't buy the other 2 because Sunbeam is a dense gold pigment that looks horrible on my skin. Also, Posie Tint is shimmer free and very sheer. That gives me some control over the application because it's buildable. You can have it light or heavy coverage as you desire.

3. Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box (Sephora: $12.00) Out of Stock
This was one of the door crashes at Sephora on Boxing Day for $12. This is probably a good deal considering that this palette is pretty old and it used to retail for about $35.00 if I am not wrong. It's been a couple of years since this palette has released though. It has some pretty bright colours. I don't wear anything but neutral shadows. I am probably never gonna wear the blue, green and purple but I couldn't help but get an Urban Decay palette for 12 bucks, lol. It does have 4 neutral colours including a very pigmented gold. So, I will be reaching this palette for those colours. It also came with a mini primer potion. And to be completely honest here, the packaging sold me.

4. NARS Orgasm/Laguna Duo ($50.00)
You guys know I am obsessed with NARS. But just because they're so pricey, I have to wait a couple of months to slowly collect their products. I got the Deep Throat blush in August of 2013. And I thought it was fair enough to get the Orgasm/Laguna duo on Boxing Day. It was not on any promotion, it retailed for the original price. I love love love love Orgasm. Unfortunately, it enhances my acne when I wear it unless I have a good layer of foundation underneath. But it's just so beautiful, I couldn't help it. Hopefully, when my acne is gone someday.... *sigh*
Laguna is a very pigmented matte bronzer for contouring. I love the fact that it's not shimmer but it is very similar to BENEFIT's Hoola. I actually got Hoola while I was in Edmonton and loved it. So, this is very similar except I like the consistency of Laguna slightly better than Hoola. The application of it is more smooth and seamless. I have to do a couple of layers of Hoola to get it to show up on my skin, but Laguna doesn't require much effort. I still love both bronzers! What I love the most: the packaging! It is awesome for travel because you have your bronzer and blush in one instead of carrying individual products.

5. Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Candy Glow ($37.00)
I particularly remember this purchase on Boxing Day because I made Nish stand in line with me at Sephora, hehe. This wasn't on sale or anything. It is regular price. I saw someone's review on YouTube and instantly knew that this is gonna be my favorite product. My mom loves it more than I do because it shows up on her skin better than mine. She has gorgeous skin and she is way more fair than I am. So, it looks absolutely amazing on her. I see this as a good deal because you get 3 blushes in one. They have 3 combinations and I got the one in Candy Glow. It has a rose pink shimmer, a soft coral pink and a peachy pink shimmer. These shimmers look great on mom because she has no acne, unlike me =(
But even with acne, I would say it's not the kind of shimmer that makes your skin looks bad and and blotchy. It still manages to give me a healthy flush despite the acne. It is not heavy shimmer if you apply light-handedly. You can use all the colours together or individually. And the packaging is just super cute.

I just noticed that I clearly spent all my money on cheek/face products. I keep finding myself more and more disattached with eye shadows, and liners and all that jazz. These days, I am loving contouring, blush and mascara. That's all. And talking of mascara...

6. BENEFIT They're Real! (Sephora: $29.00)
I am not gonna say anything about this product. You just have to try it out yourself. You guy know I've tried almost every mascara out there including the pricey Dior Show! From Rimmel to Maybelline to Almay to Revlon to L'Oreal, to Covergirl and Lancome. I love love love this mascara! It lengthens, volumizes, darkens and separates my lashes beautifully. I use 2 coats of it and I don't need any other mascara to enhance my lashes. I have nothing more to say. I refuse to use anything else.

7. Naked 3 (Sephora: $62.00) Out of Stock
I know I said I am not into shadows but I just have to get Naked 3 for the rose gold colours. I do love neutrals and that's all I wear to parties. I am only seen wearing golds, taupes, browns and rosey pinks. And this palette is just amazing I hear. I have the original Naked and I have never used any other eyeshadow palette after that. It is just a compact that has a variety of shimmers and mattes from light to dark, you barely ever need another colour. Well, for me at least... because I love soft smokey with neutrals. It is currently out of stock and it probably will be for a while due to the crazy demand. But it's worth the wait. I signed up for an email notification for whenever this is back in stock. I will let you guys in on a review whenever I receive it.

2013 was a good makeup year because I used the least of it. I used more high end products than before and took care of my skin. There was more of an attempt to take off makeup before going to sleep which I barely used to (I know, so lazy!) So, I am happy I had somewhat of a routine for exfoliation and removing makeup. I introduced myself to Benefit products in 2013, which is nice because I realized it's a line of cosmetics that make some pretty amazing products. I am super duper happy with POREfessional, They're Real & Posie Tint. They have to be my absolute favorites. I hope you guys enjoyed this haul. Have a good day! =)
