Post #18: What you wear to bed.

Hi guys!

Extremely sorry for being MIA but I think it is pretty understood why I have been busy lately =)

For all the exciting blogs coming up next month.. I wanted to clear what I promised earlier - the 30 day blog challenge. I am more than half way done so it doesn't make sense to quit it in the middle.

From the title of the post, you must be thinking.. wow.. what a boring post.. how can someone's night clothes be interesting? Well well.. I actually got a mini story to share with you guys.

I usually wear a lose tee and pajamas to sleep. These days, I wear a proper night suit (which I don't like usually) because my mom is on my case about looking presentable. She tells me to dress up and look sleek all the time because I am going to be engaged. I don't see the correlation, lol. I like being a mess at home. I take my time getting ready when I go out though. Anyway.. back to the point of this post.

When I moved out of my house for university in 2008, I was practically a stupid teen. I was 17 years old thinking I can handle moving out and being independent. My strategy was to get a room that is not being shared with anyone of my age to avoid clashes. I thought to myself.. let me live with people that I have nothing to do with because I won't have to bother with them. I got my basement near Square One. And back in the day, I paid $500 for just a single room out of a 3 room basement. We had 1 washrooms, one kitchen and the living room to share. In other words, really NOT ideal.

But hey.. I lasted 4 months =) lol

So.. I got into the habit of barely wearing anything while going to sleep. I'd usually wear a thin strapped nightie or shorts with a tank top.

I woke up this particular morning.. wearing a tube top and shorts. I washed my face and brushed my teeth and headed to the kitchen to make coffee. It was a weekend and my day off school so I was planning to chill and pamper myself. We had this one rule for the basement - no guys allowed! Even my dad and brother had to come at a time where other women were not home. There were 2 women that lived with me by the way. So, I am sitting on top of the kitchen counter.. kicking my legs and singing while making my coffee. And what do I see? A man is walking in with one of the women who lived there. Could you imagine me JUMPING OFF the counter so fast? For others, it may not be a big deal but I am not used to wearing those clothes and being ready to be seen by strange men. I ran into my room and put on a tee shirt.

Frankly, I was a little offended over why a man entered the basement. Every time I wanted to bring my guy friends over to work on projects or assignments, it wasn't allowed. So, I went back to the kitchen to make breakfast. What do I hear? The TV is on full volume at 9:00 am. I am talking volume that is purposely high to numb your sounds. I went a step closer to their room door because it was closest to the kitchen.. and I hear her moaning. This woman must be about 38 years old. And when she walked in, she introduced the man as her uncle. I am sorry, but what do you think you are doing there with your uncle? I may have been 17, but I wasn't 7. I definitely knew what was going on.

Being the bitch that I am, I went upstairs and complained. The landlord came downstairs, and she was kicked out the following week. But the kicking out included many other reasons such as damaging his property and keeping her room disgustingly dirty. She also always left her dishes overnight in the sink which annoyed the hell out of me. I always had my dishes done right after I ate. When you are living with 2 other people and sharing a kitchen, there are certain etiquettes.

Anyway.. that's my little story of my night clothes back then, lol.
