The best makeup is your smile.

Post #11: List your top three hobbies and why you love them.

1. Makeup & Shopping
Really?... Do I need to even explain this one? Of course I love makeup! It is an art and a form of expression. Like a painter loves his blank canvas and urges to create art, likewise, my face is my canvas and I use makeup as a form of expression. It is my passion. Even though it is my passion, it doesn't mean I am superb at it. I am not even close to perfect but who said you have to be? You could play with it any which way you like and that is the best thing about it. It is also a confidence booster for me as I am currently dealing with acne issues. I treat makeup as a gift to myself. I actually have a ritual. If I am going out.. my routine is to be in my room by myself and my drawers full of makeup. I play my favorite music and I treat the the makeup application time as 'me' time. It makes me happy that I have spent time on myself and in a small little way, love myself. It puts a smile on my face. It makes me feel good and I am proud to yell it to the world.

2. Reading & Writing
Well, this was a given. I love reading interesting articles and novels. I hate reading textbooks, thanks. I was a lot into criminal psychology but I have stopped now. I think the more twisted shit you read, the more twisted you think. I absolutely love reading other people's blogs. I think it's great that mommies blog these days and share mommy issues. I learned this in my women and gender studies class. Mommy blogs are huuuuuge right now. It's an outlet for them to voice their experiences as women, wives and mothers. Reading and writing keeps your brain sharp. It's always good to read. If anything, you end up increasing your vocabulary knowledge.

3. Sarcasm
Hi. I speak fluent sarcasm. And there is a valid reason for it. I believe if someone asks you a stupid question, they deserve a stupid answer. Sarcastic comments are kind of like a true lie. You make a comment about something you don't literally mean but the communication works because the person gets it. Sarcasm is both funny and mean. It's my second language so Nish has become equally sarcastic with me, lol. It usually backfires though =P

PS: I think women these days are gifted at being sarcastic. I love being sarcastic, and I am not being sarcastic.
