Rain, pancakes & killer shake.

Usually, rain would be associated with hot tea or coffee rather than a chilled chocolate shake. But like always, there's a story behind it. So, read on my lovelies. I met him after a month-ish. We barely meet 2-4 times a month but it's our responsibility to make it count. Meeting after an argument is either distressing or refreshing. Distressing because you're still caught up in the aftermath of the fight, and refreshing because you learn to let it go and start a new day. We're kinda weird - we do both. We make a smooth transition that occurs within the first fifteen minutes of driving somewhere. Smooth, for real.

The first five minutes involve the awkward silence after a meeting, and those gawky stares at each other. Ten minutes into the drive, one's hand reaches the other's shoulder, neck or arm. Some sort of physical contact is made. It's kinda like.. "Hey.. remember, being a boyfriend is also a good thing?" The last five minutes mark the transition of being silent strangers to people who can't keep their hands off each other. Yup, the smooth-est fifteen minutes you'll ever get to experience.

We mutually decided to go to Denny's for some warm pancake love. Mr. Veggie who always has so much trouble ordering vegetarian items anywhere we go was finally content with his choice. He ordered a delicious veggie omelette with toast and hash brown along with a chocolate shake (that I mostly stole and drank from him). I just ordered plain pancakes because I wanted to go for a warm brownie dessert after that. From looking at a menu together, holding hands, smiling and flirting while you make the order and playfully eating - soooo worth a fight. Remember, refreshing?

After we quickly finished my mini breakfast and his large breakfast at Denny's, we headed off to Bramalea. I had to buy something for a friend and then I wanted to go to Pickle Barrel. Thank you Komal for taking me there the last time for their Chocolate Molton Lava Cake. God, I was dreaming about it the night before because I knew I would be dragging him there. My uterus just skipped a beat. No, wait.. it doesn't beat. But it's THAT good. Ahhh.. chocolate lovers have to go try it.

After the shopping and roaming around, we settled at Pickle Barrel. He had to leave in half an hour. He decided on a slice of fudge cake and I had to order what I came for. He was too full to order anything else but since he loves chocolate shakes and I had his at Denny's - he wanted one. Reading the menu card, he asked me, "What's a killer shake?" I said, "Um, I don't know." But it stated that it was available in chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. I just thought it's a fancy name for a goddamn shake. When our server came to receive our order, Nish asked, "How big is the shake? Because I am kinda full already." The server said, "Oh.. not big at all." So, here we are waiting for our desserts. First came the delish slice of fudge cake and next came my Chocolate Molten Lava Cake. In the end, came the Killer Shake.

You know that "What the f*ck" look? Yeah. That. The server was apparently sarcastic. Here's a freakin' gigantic looking glass. Not a glass, rather a glass jug. It was HUGE. Enough to serve two people. And we both looked at the server while he chuckled. We had leftovers for all the three items we ordered. We couldn't finish anything. It was a sudden chocolate overdose. And oh man, we are so going back for that killer shake when we already haven't eaten, now that we know the size of it. It was a great day overall. The rain made up the mood. It's just lovely hanging out after a long time, especially when there's any sort of chocolate involved. Oh no, just writing this blog has made me hungry :(
