My life in words, many words.

Beyond our radius..

You must be wondering what I mean by the title. Well, "our" radius always consisted of going to local restaurants, Humber College, university or his residence. He always used to complain that I am not a "fun, adventurous" girl (which I am still not, by the way!). Hence, I wanted to at least GO to wonderland once. It's been eight years since I've even seen wonderland. They didn't even have these scary rides back then. I think the roller coaster was the scariest ride in 2004.

I woke up 11:30 a.m. this morning, and rushed myself to the salon. I felt like I was growing a forest on my face, and that a lawn mower would need to come do the job. I hadn't been to the salon since the last MONTH. If you're a girl, and you know how a month with over-grown eyebrows, and that oh-so visible moustache looks like - you'll feel my pain. This was a must-do thing on my list. He has been working crazy hours lately, including double shifts. We've barely even seen each other over the past while. He's such a work-a-holic, it drives me nuts sometimes. But also kinda makes me happy that I get to spend a part of it, lol.

Anyway, after getting my face nice and clean - I walked towards the washroom for a quick shower. How can it be quick when you haven't shaved your legs and arms in more than a month? Well hello best friend, Gillette! Does anyone know how awesome men's razors are for coarse hair? If anyone has disgusting coarse hair like mine that grow in all kinds of different directions - go for a men's razor. Venus just doesn't cut it for me any more. After spending a good hour in the washroom, I was finally ready.

We met up at a Tim Horton's nearby. It was almost 4:00 p.m. when we both reached. We had our favorite ritual lunch - pizza! No counting the carbs when you are literally going to walk and burn all day. I happily dig in with that yummy creamy garlic and walked out with a half-pregnant belly. We walked to wonderland from there, because it was right across. Parking was quite ridiculous today because of Punjabi Virsa!

The first thing we did - shop for sunglasses. A genius like me couldn't find her aviators last minute, and remember how I broke my other glasses? (LOL). I have an entire blog dedicated to it. Anyway, we finally selected a pair and walked towards the counter. One thing I really REALLY appreciate about him, is that he just so courteous and never lets his lady pay. I offer, and almost fight with him at the counter - but he never lets it happen. After he paid, the cashier said, "He's a sweetheart!" Then, I said, "He really is. I love him!" I walked out of there with the biggest smile on my face. It always makes me happy whenever I hear something nice about him from others.

Soon after that, we had one crappy picture clicked from someone. People really suck at clicking pictures there. We put our stuff away in the locker and took our change of clothes with us to head over to the water park. That was our first destination. Remember, how I wrote a blog about how I am the biggest chicken ever? Well, that still remains. We didn't even go on ONE ride. That is not only because I am a chicken but also because we barely had time. We initially went there for the concert and didn't have time for rides. It was almost 5:00 p.m when we got to the water park. After changing into our swim clothes, we started walking towards the water park. So, he starts to walk towards a ride that appeared quite scary. I kept whining that I don't want to go. He said, "Just stand here, and watch how it goes! If you don't like it, we won't go.. but just observe." I said, "Okay fine." He puts his arms around me while he's standing behind me. All I see is this ride coming towards us on this bridge, that was namely the "Splash Zone." It doesn't take a genius to figure out what's going to happen in a "Splash Zone." Within a few seconds of me staring at the ride, I am drenched to the fullest. What a start! I just looked at him with my "What the eff" look while he giggled away.

I cannot even begin to explain the experience of actually "going" somewhere with him for the first time. Just the fact that we're not sitting in a restaurant eating, or sitting in his car talking and actually somewhere we can participate in some activities made me excited! After the splash zone, we went to the pool. We became kids in the pool. Okay, let me rephrase that. "I" became a kid there. He was almost surprised to see me behave like that. He tried to get me to swim - what a fail! Okay, too many kids in that pool. I swear I bumped into like seven of them. He swam back and forth while I stood there in knee deep water. I don't take risks. Then, he dragged me near the "Shallow Water." I don't know what it was going to take for him to take me to the "Deep Water" end. Nevertheless, it was a LOT of fun. We really enjoyed ourselves there. I didn't even wanna get out of the pool.

After the pool, we went to Dairy Queen for their Chocolate Dipped cones! Eating away, and walking.. we could really enjoy "holding hands." We held hands throughout the entire day. From 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. And I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't even feel like I am with a bf, it felt like I am a married woman with a hubbie. The way he takes care of you, and makes you feel wanted and special.. is amazing. He did act like a typical brown guy too. How can one resist looking at hot girls in bikinis? Although, he did it to piss me off and see my "How dare you even rotate your eyeball towards her perfect freakin' flat stomach" face.

Then, we started playing games. Ring Toss, and a BUNCH of other games. I believe he spent a lot of money by playing every game that I laid my eyes on. He wanted to win something for me. Unfortunately, we both suck at aiming, playing basketball and climbing rope stairs with balance. We won NOTHING the whole day. Just a wizard hat :( I wanted a huge stuffed toy. But then again, I had my own toy (stuffed with pizza and ice cream by that point) ;)

You know what's adorable? That he sacrifices his desires to make me happy. He asked me all day to go on at least one ride. I refused each time. I suck I know. But he didn't complain, or throw a tantrum. Surprisingly, he said.. "It's okay babe. It's your day today. You finished your degree, and studied a lot. You deserve this day." Thank you for understanding that I needed a break! I love you for taking me out.

After playing these games, we went Go-Karting. You know what's cute? The fact that I looked stupid in a helmet. He buckled it up for me and said, "You look funny, but cute." Ah.. little moments like these, make my day! Especially after we've been through our rough patches. Go-Karting was a lot of fun. We both sat in one car and raced with people. Bumping wasn't allowed (which totally sucked) because that's what makes it fun. Anyway, soon after that.. we headed over to the concert.

We got to the concert after eight, when it was almost over. But the good thing is, I met Kanchi there. We were there in 2004 for the Sukhshinder Shinda & Jazzy B concert. We kinda re-lived memories for a brief period because she had to leave by that time. In fact, him and I also left after 40 minutes (because we missed all the good singers!)

There were nearly 60 cars waiting to exit outside. As we walked to the parking lot, we wondered how we're ever going to make it home on time. Mr. Smarty Pants goes on the opposite side (where you're not allowed, and you get a ticket if cops catch you!) and drives all the way to the exit. He actually skipped a good 50 cars through the parking lot, and just bud in. We got out of there quicker than anybody else! Haha, that was pretty awesome. So, I said.. "I know a shortcut to go home from here!" He said, "Put in your address in on my GPS and I'll figure it out." I was surprised because he usually knows his way around. Apparently, he starts to take the highway. I told him that I got there by road and it only took 20 minutes. Guess what he did? He took the highway to take me to SYMPOSIUM. You guys know that I always rave about Symposium being my most favorite restaurant in the world? And going there is the biggest treat for me! It had been three months or so since the last time we went. I had no idea! He drove a different route to surprise me, and here we are, at Symposium.

We were quickly seated and I had to order my Chocolate Divine. And today, I shared dessert (gotta change my piggy habits). Aren't you glad, sweetie? Yes, I actually LET him have my waffles and brownies. Wait, that could sound wrong :/ But you know, what I mean? It was lovely. Candle-light, amazing setting, and delish food with the most amazing guy in the world. I truly had a wonderful day. And I wanna thank you, for taking me to wonderland after eight years. It would have never happened, if it wasn't for you. And I wouldn't have had fun, if it wasn't with you. Every little thing you do, means so much to me.

Every little game you played to win me a stuffed toy. Every time you had to kill your desire to go on a ride. Everything you do to put a smile on my face.. all I wanna say is, I love you. More and more day by day. Oh, and also.. I was doubtful about our married life. I thought we would never go beyond our little "radius." Our radius was our comfort zone. I am glad we can enjoy things together. Next time, I promise to go early and challenge myself to any ride you say. Next time, the onus is on me to make YOU happy. Love you, always =)
