This is hilarious. I am brown, and like the many of you we have to go to all sorts of parties - anniversaries, birthdays, graduation parties, house warming parties, poojas, and family dinners without any particular occasion. And we've never seen more than half of these people before. We have to call them uncles and aunts. They become our family friends a part of our little social circle. Actually, our family's social circle and we are just forcibly dragged along.
So, this guy at a family friend's house is always flirting with any girl that comes over. He plays out to be the cute, boy next door. I really don't think of him that way. He actually turns me off. So, when our family is over and he has no one to talk to, his entire attention is focused towards me. When there are other people over, and I start to ignore him, he will try to flirt with others to apparently TRY to make me feel jealous. I mean, really?
Are we back in junior school now? You'd really think that'll bother me? Most of you will say, "Well, if it doesn't bother you, then why are you blogging about it?" Well, to answer your question; I am blogging about it because my parents seemed to notice it today. He always comes around and talks to me all the time. Today, I totally ignored him to NOT try to be one of the three girls striving for his attention. And you know the usual.. when you run away from someone, they run after you. It seems as if he tried so hard to be playful with other girls to get some sort of a reaction out of me. And it was nowhere to be found.
So, let's go back to grade 5 here. Why do guys try to make girls feel jealous? Why do they make mean comments and pretend that they don't like you?
Because: they LIKE you. They want ATTENTION. They want to get a reaction out of us and see if we CARE. They take joy in seeing a girl get upset over wanting his time and attention. It depends, they might have a motive. They enjoy teasing and playing games. And sometimes, they're just plain STUPID and IMMATURE.
I'd say, if you like a girl - be straight with her. Pay attention to her and stop flirting around. If it's really HER you want by playing all of these games, it's just gonna turn her off and push her away. Otherwise, you'll end up alone or with a girl you really didn't want in the first place.
