Birthday: Round Two.

Since I spent the night out on October 6th, I spent a large portion of my day sleeping when I got back home the next morning. My friends didn't even eat much of the cake because they wanted me to bring it home to my parents. The baby picture on the cake is when I was barely two years old and my mom was carrying me around in her arms at her workplace, in India. It was gonna bring back so many memories for her, especially because she hadn't seen my childhood pictures in a long time. So, when I got home and told her about my amazing friends and the amazing night, she was very happy for me. When I opened up the cake box, she was just as speechless as I was. I think she got a little teary too. And then she said something hilarious in Punjabi about how I just turned 21 yet I am still a "khoti."

Then, we opened up all the presents together. Thank you so much everyone for the lovely gifts, cards and the sweet gestures. I loved all of them! You guys put in so much love, care, and time into this and made my day special. I seriously cannot thank you guys enough. I am more sentimental about my birthday because the last one was nearly disastrous. This birthday probably made up for all birthdays gone wrong.

In the evening, when my dad and brother got home, we had a party of our own. Just the four of us, family, you know? The celebration is incomplete without the four of us sitting on the dining table, cutting the cake together, feeding each other, mom's lavishly tasty home cooked meals, dad's emotional speech, the hugs and the kisses. It was just awesome. We sat down and recollected all the memories from India and traced our journey till now. I just gotta say another word of thanks to the best parents in the whole world. And of course, my lovely cute little brother. That's how I celebrated on Friday.

I re-opened all the presents again and my dad was just so impressed with the creative ideas. Seeing a candle with my picture and name on it, seeing that digital photo frame with my slideshow on it, seeing that teddy with my name engraved on it. The gifts were just so personalized and that's why I will cherish them forever.

My dad said that he wanted to throw a party for all my friends.. that made me so happy :)
