Part 2: Satnam Shri Waheguru

April 24th was the Satsang and right the next day we organized 'Akhand Path' in my mom's pind. It goes on for two nights and three days. The granthis stay up all night and someone has to serve them with tea all night long. I did that for my mama ji's wedding six years ago. Unfortunately, I couldn't do it this year. I stayed from the morning till the evening but did not end up spending the night. I was busy in Jal at the same time. But our entire family and other relatives went for the day of the "bhog." Langar was served again, for the entire pind. Well, it was more of a feast than a langar. We had around 400 people come over. It was my nani's wish to have this path while our entire family is there. And I am glad that it all went well :) I remember that I was walking around asking my mom's college friends if they need anything. Then I stood in a corner talking to my cousin about "seva" and the fact that it has never felt better to practice so much religiosity and spirituality. My mom's friend overheard me, and she asked, "do you wanna do proper seva?" I said, "yes." She said, there are too 'peer baba s' sitting at your doorstep and no one is attending them. Go serve them some food and they will give you blessings! I went out and filled two plates with the langar and served them. And when they gave me blessings, that was the best feeling ever!
After having these two religious events back to back, we had a day to shop for my parents' anniversary. I went out with mom and shopped for her lehenga, sandals and jewelery.. finally the fun part.. yaaay!

The anniversary took place in one of the best hotels in Jalandhar, Hotel President's Court. All our family, friends and relatives were invited. I didn't let my mom go to a salon. I did her make up :) and she looked very gorgeous! At the same time, I had to put make up on 7 ladies and straighten hair for three people. I ended up looking like a woman who woke up from a sick bed, seriously. I looked SO bad, it's not even funny. The worst part being that this was a family event and it was all filmed. The videos have already been sent out to the rest of the family in England and I will dig my grave anytime soon.

All my friends came out that night and we had a great time on the dance floor. I am sorry if anyone felt unattended, there were just a lot of people that night and I tried my best to please everyone! That entirely sums up the first week before we started touring. Yaaay! :)
