I don't know if I've ever mentioned this, but I've been big on horoscopes since I was 14. I used to have this daily horoscope service. Remember, when we used to EMAIL friends? MSN was a new phenomenon at that time!
And I used to sadly, read my daily horoscope. That went away over time. But I am still fascinated with the qualities they list, although they are generic and don't mean a lot. The same things could be true of another horoscope. BUT I just like reading them anyway :) I've read so many in-depth descriptions of Libra, and since I haven't been blogging much these days, I wanted to list some facts that I think are super true of myself.
Talking about the ORIGIN of Libra - the symbol (the picture that you see) is symbolized by scales. And quite obviously, the scales represent balance. And surprisingly, those scales also represent that a lot of librans pursue law. Hence, they symbolize equality. That's the tattoo I wanted to get. It's gonna be quite meaningless now that I am not pursuing law. But yes, I can strongly assert that balance is a MUST in my life. I am always looking for that perfect balance between school, home life, love, friendships etc. When the scale tips over and weighs heavy on one side, it disturbs me and becomes a reason for stress.
Libra is ruled by Venus, as is Taurus, but to a more obvious degree. Now, ALL the relationships I've had have been with Taurus men. I mean, ALL. That's kinda creepy to me. But I always ended up being attracted to Tauruses. It is said that librans are the most romantic, sentimental and kindest of all the signs. I don't know about that.
Easily said - everyone loves a Libran! LOL sorry, you can't help it - we are the warmest and friendliest of all. I do think it's true. Even if I don't like you, I would still try my best to be cordial towards you. At least, if I HAVE to. I am the person that feels sorry for the lonely outcast at a party and engages him in a conversation so he won't feel left out. Trust me, I have done this before. MANY times! And for this reason, it is said that Librans always have friends. We cannot function well without companionship! We need "co-dependence." It may be taken as a weakness but it's just the influence from Venus.
Major reality in my life: I HATE CONFLICT. I may run away from it, or tackle it. It depends on the situation but I hate it. I hate that I have people who dislike me. I hate that I have caused hurt to some people, and I don't have a special place in their life anymore. Librans are usually diplomats, finding a happy medium between two opposing sides. I've been pretty good at that! But we do this because we want HARMONY, and BALANCE, like the symbol.
Something I find ASTONISHINGLY true - we're very intuitive. Or at least, I am. Some would even say psychic. I can almost always predict what's going to happen, and it usually has been true in my life in many cases. My first impressions of people are usually correct as well. We also have a hunger for knowledge, which befits the name - LIBRA (part of a library). This explains my ongoing quest of advancing my education and not losing touch with it.
For the trouble areas, I've gotta say these are BANG ON. All these are proven weaknesses of mine..
Firstly, I tend to overlook detail. This is why I think it's good that I did not pursue law. I didn't have the eye for minute details, like a lawyer should. We don't participate in things that we dislike. This makes us look selfish and vain, if we're not careful of our behaviour. I agree with this a 100%
I wanna everything that concerns me, and when it comes to other people and their wishes, I will not participate in things that do not interest me.
Here goes the biggest one - I AM A DAYDREAMER. I always have been. Ever since I can remember.. from grade 4 or something. I used to daydream a lot in school, but still managed amazing grades. I follow my soul, wherever it guides me, at any time of the day.
Sometimes, I have a lot of difficulty making decisions. Or let's just say, all the time. Nish knows this.. I have to discuss everything in such a PROFESSOR-like manner. I orally go over the pros and cons of the problem, and then decide which side weighs heavier even when I make the most minor of decisions. It's not that I am weak, it's because I am so balanced. I see both sides of an issue clearly, and it becomes hard to choose a side, with the fear of offending the other.
Librans are generally regarded as the most attractive of all signs. This is said because we are ruled by Venus. I mean, no doubt.. I am pretty darn amazing. Just kidding!
We aren't regarded as one of the more physically active signs. I quote, "Having born attractive, you don't feel any great need to work at it." Literally, no comments. I lived by this rule and let myself go. I thought, well, I have a pretty face, and I don't need to work towards my body. WRONG!
About occupations and financial profile - I find this precisely TRUE.
Librans are spendthrift - 100% agreed.
Occupationally, we fall into TWO categories. One: ART.
This includes those beautiful actors, models, designers, decorators, beauticians, make-up artists, writers and painters.
I definitely fall into this category, and have fought with my interests all my life.
The second category is LAW. Professions such as attorney, judge, and legislator - as well as those that cater to tact, friendliness, and understand: diplomat, counselor, concierge etc.
This has been an inner struggle for me. I love writing, make-up artistry, interior decorating, acting, as well as dancing and singing. On the other hand, I feel like I would make a good counselor or diplomat because of my communication and persuasion skills. Librans are likely to fall into one of these two cases. I wonder, where I will eventually fall. Other famous Librans are Mahatma Gandhi, Eleanor Roosevelt, President Jimmy Carter, and designer Ralph Lauren.
And in terms of love and relationships, we need people. We definitely need love. And we lead ourselves into romantic trouble. My romantic life has always been problematic, if I look at it over the last few years. It seems, that things are going right for the first time for me, but there are still many hurdles in the way. In case of love, opportunities are everywhere because of the bold nature, friendliness and attractiveness. Also, being flirtatious just comes with being a Libra. Half the time I am talking normally, people think I am flirting. The reason why love is so problematic for us, is because it is the most important thing in our life.
At the end it says, "After being misled, cheated on, and not appreciated by several partners, you'll get it right." I could not have summed this up better for myself. It says my ideal mate is supposed to be Aries. And I've never even known an Aries guy closely.

And that's pretty much it. I related some of the characteristics that stood out to me, to my real life.
Hope that at least had the Librans had fun reading =)
booo!
ReplyDeletewhat a biased libra centred post.
you must now do one for everyone else too! we are all curious
lol i had to.. i am obsessed with librans :D
ReplyDeleteCan you write a blog about your weight loss.
ReplyDeleteI too would love to hear about your weight loss! :)
ReplyDeletewow okay, didn't know the weight loss would be a major topic.
ReplyDeletei wanna blog about it too, but after i see tremendous results.
i'll do a series of weight loss blogs after i do "my story - part 2" lol (since the first attempt was a fail)
but i can do some generic (how to get started, go in the right direction etc. blogs) for now.
i still got about 25 lbs to go! i think i'll do the major blog sometime in late august.. because it would take another three months to shed the extra weight.
Didn't one of much older blogs say that you didn't want to per se become thin..just healthy and lose about 20 pounds [I could be wrong so please correct me if I am]..which you did; then how come 25 more?
ReplyDeleteIt did.. but at that time.. I didn't weigh as much as what I put on AFTER getting off the fitness regime.. I havent listed numbers anywhere yet, but you'd know that 45 lbs sounds like a lot but it isnt..
ReplyDeleteThin for my height is considered 125-130.. and trust me, I'd be THRILLED if I make it to 145.
