I just woke up from a nap. Remember, I am the girl who has to get sick every season? Because of my bronchial problem. Yeuup. Sick again. Just ate and took an Advil Cold & Sinus. I don't feel like studying but I have to finish off some things tonight so I can study tomorrow without wasting time. I have a midterm on Friday for Senior Seminar in Crime, Law & Deviance. My first two assignments and my first midterm received pretty bad grades - lower than I expected. So, that's a wake up call to do way better on the rest of them. I guess I was just blehhh the first few weeks of school. Now, that the workload is kicking in, I am doing a better job. I've got about three more midterms and a bunch of essays before the end of October.
My brother's birthday is coming up next week. Any ideas how to plan a surprise and what to buy? We wanted to take him to Niagara and spend the night there but I have a midterm on Monday, following his birthday weekend - so that's not possible anymore.
Before I get started, I wanted to do a little blog because I am bored, lol :)
1. My birth place/where I live now/ where I'd like to live in the future.
My birth place is Punjab. I live in Toronto. I'd like to live in Vancouver.
2. The age I normally get mistaken for.
Okay, this is weird. My hair has something to do with it. Whenever I get side or frontal bangs, I get asked for my ID in many places. Whenever I dress formal, people usually take me to be above 23.
3. What I want to be when I'm older.
Older? LOL. First, I don't wanna grow older. Second, I haven't even given it a thought. My plans have suddenly changed and I am just gonna go with the flow.
4. What I find attractive in members of the opposite sex.
A good sense of humor, etiquette, nice hair, and an attractive smile.
5. What I find attractive in members of the same sex.
Long hair, clear skin (I'm weird), and eyes.
6. My biggest insecurity.
To not being able to provide for my parents the way in which I wish to.
7. My fondest memory.
I gotta say, my birthday this year. It has become a wonderful memory.
8. My favorite food.
Macaroni Salad, Taco Bell, Chicken Lasagna, Macaroni & Cheese, Channa-Bhatura, Aloo Paranthas - I am a sucker for Chaat Paapdi & Ras Malai.
9. Top give turn-ons.
Smile, fragrance, height, lips, and hygiene.
10. Top five turn-offs.
Bad odour, lame sense of humor, desperado's, and excessive hair.
11. Someone I miss, and why.
Friends who I am not in touch with anymore. Sometimes, people make an impact in your life. You can't erase memories.
12. Someone I love, and why.
Arshia, you're like a little sister and just a darling. The way she cares and loves <3
13. My pet peeves.
Aww man, there's too many. I have an entire blog post on it.
14. Any weird/hidden talents I have.
Umm.. I sing? I can dance well too. I give out massages? I am a good photographer.
15. Top five things I couldn't live without.
Things - so not people. Alright, my laptop, my phone, makeup, mirror and good food.
16. Ten random facts about me.
- I suck at driving, although I wish I didn't.
- I get sick very often, I have the weakest immune.
- Desi chatpata food - Golgappas & Chaat Paapdi are capable of giving me an orgasm.
- I like romantic guys, who can do cute things. Because only I was the one doing cute things all these years and no one was able to reciprocate. I finally found someone who can :)

- I love sleeping. I can do it for hours and hours.
- I blush when someone looks deep into my eyes and smiles.

You've grown a lot as a person and I applaud you for that as well as the understanding that you have grasped of life and people through your experinces.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note though, I recommend you confronting people and allowing them to tell their side of the story before you make conclusions.
I know you are going to say, "That's just the way I am". But just as an advice, it will make your life peaceful and less dramatic (though you need drama once a while). For me personally, if I don't confront someone, I feel a burden inside me that needs to get out or else I start building up false assumptions, misunderstandings and pass on judgement that is entirely incorrect. And morally that's not what a person should do. We all are different but my morals don't allow me to judge someone without hearing their side of the story.
My friend (can't disclose the name) recommended me to read your blogs just because you are such an amazing writer. I have to highlight the fact that you definitely are a GREAT writer. I have read all your blogs in the span of one week.
I thought I'd comment on this blog because no one else did..lol
Keep up the writing and good luck with your endeavours. :)
Hello,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely comments about my writing as well as the concern about my personal life.
I took the 'drama' out of the equation November 8th, 2010. Since then, I have been at peace. What makes you think I am not living a peaceful life?
I don't usually feel burdened because my past experiences have taught me to be strong this way. I was blocked out of people's lives without a word said, I guess that's what gave me the tendency to do the same with people who I don't think deserve to be my friends.
And if you've read my blogs over the last week, you would have known that as I grew wise over time, I learned to let grudges go. Well, at least somewhat. I have nothing against anyone. I am at peace. I say, let bygones be bygones. People who are meant to be in your life, will be in it. They will "attempt" to be in it. If they haven't been there or spoken to you over a span of a year, it means they don't intend to, or their ego is larger than relationships.
Also, confrontations take place when the situation is heated or current. You seem to lose the sense of belonging and affection for people if you don't speak to them, and the matters, issues, and feelings diminish over time. A year is a long enough time to get over a misunderstanding. Confrontations make sense in the heat of the situation, and that's where they should've been taken care of.
ReplyDeleteThese days, no one will go back to something that happened a while back to reflect on the conclusions made, unless they're wrong or feel guilty about it.
I am sorry, I think I presented the peaceful part wrong. I didn't mean to say that your life isn't at peace. I am no one to judge. You would know better.
ReplyDeleteI believe, time doesn't matter. What matters is who makes the first move - if that relationship meant something to you at one point in life, then time has nothing to do with it. And like I said, you can't just conclude that the other person doesn't wanna make any effort or has forgotten about you. Maybe they are afraid of how the person will respond.
Anyway, that's my personal opinion maybe because of persona experiences. It's just so sad for me to see: minute to break a relationship that took years to build; whether it's best friends, parents, siblings, better halves - whoever! I get very emotional. Misunderstandings and not clearing them out are the biggest root to any problem.
You are a better judge of your life than anyone else can ever be. I am no one to tell you what to do with the people in your life. I just felt that type of emotion while reading your blog, which is why I commented.
If you considered that person important and of worthy, you (not you, but generally you) would approach the other person and tell them, abc this is how I feel and the vibes you are passing me off.
ReplyDeleteOh well...I guess not everyone thinks like that.
I was hoping to read another blog from you lol :)
I respect your thoughts and your personal experiences. I guess that's where we differentiate.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think it was worth blogging, but now that you said it, I'll blog about it now :) and further present my views there.
