Hello, just like everyone else... I have a few ideas. I have more serious ones coming up in the next blog. I cannot risk taking a chance with those. These are the more general ones..
1. Read at least 7 novels in 2011. I love reading. I used to read so much in high school. When I went to university, I couldn't make time for readings other than my textbooks. Since I travel so much on the bus, I have decided this should not be hard.
2. Save money. It's insane the amount of $ I spend on food. I am gonna stop buying food from campus. I really need to stop. Shruti, no more pizza lunches with you. Aditi, not even an evening coffee and donut with you.
3. Get organized. I usually am an organization freak, but only when I have time. So, the most important thing is to prioritize my time for studies. I know we always say this but I have no choice. I have 7 courses this semester at university, 6 at UTM and 1 in Downtown. I couldn't make time for Humber this semester. So, I will be doing that in the summer.
4. Say buh-bye to Facebook starting January 4th. NO REACTIVATION this time!
5. Learn to cook some Indian dishes and make mum happy, lol.
6. To finish what I start.
7. Find a part-time job.
8. Keep on the world affairs. I swear I have no knowledge outside my own little world. It's embarrassing at times.
9. Decrease time for the internet. Be it Yahoo, Skype, MSN, Facebook will be gone... I am only gonna be blogging.
10. TRY to keep my room neat this year. I hate this one. My room looks worse than the slums.
11. Be more social. Screw the people that don't deserve to be in your life. Make new friends.
12. Drink more water. I know it's pathetic but sometimes I don't drink a drop of water all day :| That is super unhealthy.
13. Get along with my brother this year. Maybe he'll grow up.
14. Catch at least 8 hours of sleep every night. No more, unless it's a weekend.
15. Don't bring up anything from the past. Don't talk to me about 2010 or the people in it.
16. I suck at saying "no." So, learning to say that in a mature way. Maybe, stating my feelings and reasons in a rational way. Or even my feelings can't be rationalized, I need to feel confident saying "I don't feel comfortable doing this." I do so many friends favors and get myself in shit for it. So, expect to hear "no" from me :)
17. Be a happy person with influence. Smile, and be more positive. I was a much positive person in 2010 than I was in 2009. And I hope for more positivity this year =)
18. I want to have CLEAR plans for what I wanna do. Enough of dreaming and making plans in my head that make no sense. I wanna research everything and make back-up plans in case I don't succeed.
19. Become a volunteer for Crime Victims in either Brampton or Mississauga. I seriously want to help victims this year. It doesn't hurt to do one act of kindness once in a while.
20. Don't let others take advantage of me.
21. Cut down on coffee and drink more Herbal tea.
22. Devote more time to praying. I remember my grandma teaching me the 'Hanuman Chalisa' when I was 8 years old. It was all verbal. When I began to read and write Hindi by the time I was 10, I could read the Chalisa myself. Until I was about 15, I used to read it EVERY night before I went to sleep. It's been 5 years since I dropped that habit. I only do it occasionally now. And I wanna be able to chant Sri Ram's name everyday.
23. This one's weird. I have a really bad habit of chewing my own bottom lip, for example on the bus. And when you do that in public, it's not so pretty. *whimper*
24. I love music. Singing and dancing. Dad and I are setting up the home theatre system down in the basement. I am gonna be dancing a lot more and it's one of the best workouts.
25. Last but not the least, love and respect my parents even more. Allow more quality time. Even though I stay at home all the time, it's still not enough for them lol. It's okay I love you mum and dad <3
May this year be a kick-ass year for all of us !! =D
